ESSM Skills 1-3: I can state my strengths and interests and connect them to at least 3 possible jobs, including 1 currently hiring in Beaver County, using a job search site and my PA CareerLink account.
WEEK 2
Guiding Question: What knowledge and skills are required to do the job I want? How can I obtain these?
ESSM Skill 4: Using the links on the DOVE site's ESSM Skill 4, I can explain the training/education to obtain each of my 3 possible jobs (these can change as participants explore) and add at least one relevant training course in my PA CareerLink account.
WEEK 3
Guiding Question: What documentation is required to get and maintain the job I want? How can I obtain and keep these current?
ESSM Skills 5 & 6: I can select a specific job I'd like to have and explain at least 3 ways I can obtain the vital records and education and/or training it requires.
WEEK 4
Guiding Question: What are the key parts of an effective resume and an online job application? How do I use these to get the job I want to have?
ESSM Skill 7: I can complete a basic resume and job application.
WEEK 5
Guiding Question: What are the key parts of a successful job interview process? How do prepare, interview and follow up effectively to get the job I want to have?
ESSM Skill 9 : I can demonstrate job interview skills and send professional interview response and follow-up emails.
WEEK 6
Guiding Question: What does success look and sound like at my job? How can I use my workforce knowledge and skills to be build career success?
ESSM Skill 11: I am workforce ready: I can present myself appropriately and problem-solve effectively in the workplace to maintain employment.
