TRANSPORTATION
If you wake up sick, text the DOVE phone: 724.856.2942 by 8 AM so we can alert your driver. Please do NOT contact the driver or other staff.
Absences, even if sick, not calling the DOVE phone by 8 AM, or other issues may result in being discharged from the program on a case-by-case basis.
Cooperate with all driver directions the first time. Do not distract the driver.
Keep the noise level low, conversations appropriate and kind, and the vehicles free of trash.
Take all belongings with you. DOVE is not responsible for items left behind.
If your window is open, close it before exiting the vehicle.
Use a listening device. Other passengers / driver should not not be able to hear your phone. Drivers do not play music from the vehicle sound system.
All behavior expectations apply when riding a vehicle, on a walk or trip and while at DOVE.
ARRIVAL
Staff use a wand to check participants and any bags for unapproved items. All bags will remain in the storage space provided and require staff permission to use.
Dress appropriately for the weather-- including your shoes--let your facilitator know in advance if you need outdoor clothing.
CELL PHONE
Absolutely no photos, audio or videos are to be recorded or streamed while on DOVE property, program time, or during transportation.
When you arrive at DOVE, place your cell phone in the designated place on silent or vibrate. Do not bring iPads or other devices unless approved by staff.
Use of cell phones, headphones, or other devices are not permitted on walks, trips, or the worksites unless approved by staff.
Ask your facilitator to check your phone; generally, it is only permitted while in the sensory room. If given permission to take a call, step into the conference room, then return your phone to the designated space.
Keep conversation, clothing and device content appropriate and aligned to DOVE expectations during transportation and program times.
DESK
Please sit only in a chair, not on a desk. Ask your facilitator or Ms. Brittany to get out of your desk chair. You are to be seated at your desk unless invited to a center table or another space by a staff member.
Please do not sit or stand at another participant's desk unless directed by a staff member.
Please keep your desk free of trash. Only a bottle (with cap on tight) is permitted at your desk--all food / other drinks MUST stay on your center table. If using a water bottle from DOVE, only put water into it.
SENSORY ROOM
To use the sensory room, ask your facilitator or Ms. Brittany. Then, sign your name and start time on the clipboard. Add 15 min. on the timer by the sensory room door.
Monitor your 15 min. with your phone or a timer. When you leave, write your end time on the clipboard.
Cells may be used in the sensory room. If taking a call, be sure to end it BEFORE exiting the sensory room.
BREAKS
Please remain seated at your desk and visit the DOVE website's "Take A Break" page for options, play a game, listen to music, ask to use the sensory room, or do art or other activities.
LUNCH
Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch if they prefer instead of the lunches provided.
Food is not to be ordered and delivered/picked up.
Please follow lunch procedures for trash disposal and ensure your space is clean. Remain in your seat unless you have permission from a staff member to get up.
WALKS
Walks are 5-10 min. and announced at lunch if time and weather permit. All DOVE expectations apply on a walk. Please be respectful to our community. Remain between the staff members and within their sight at all times. Visiting stores or other stops are not permitted for staff or participants. Cell phones are not permitted on a walk.
