Brown-Carson Cemetery

The Brown-Carson Cemetery archaeological survey report on-file was written during the 2000 development process- An Intensive Burial Search Within the Limits of Proposed Disturbance for an Intersection Improvement for the Proposed Cypress Glen Subdivision, Anne Arundel County, Maryland (2000), by Applied Archaeology and History Associates. The following map of the burial shafts were identified within the archaeologically sensitive area. Based on the dimensions of the burial shafts, the archaeologist interpreted 10 adults and 7 juveniles were likely present, for a total of 17 burials (including the two marked burial sites). It is likely the cemetery extends under Dill Road and into the area near the historic house across the street, the Thomas A. Brown House (recorded on the Anne Arundel Inventory of Historic Properties).
