Teams are comprised of a maximum of 8 individuals of the same gender and grade. The district will attempt to keep individuals from the same school, however, for scheduling purposes, we may have to combine rosters with multiple schools.
Players must be prepared to tee off by the scheduled tee time.
Team / Players will be assigned a starting hole.
RULES FOR PARENTS & SPECTATORS:
They may NOT give players any advice or instructions during a match.
They may NOT keep score, or carry the player's clubs.
They are allowed to help find lost balls, cheer after well-played shots, and can help encourage ready golf.
Proper golf attire is required for matches.
All golfers play from the RED tees.
Play the ball as it lies. If you feel you are allowed relief ask a coach or course manager for assistance.
The maximum score on any hole is a 7. Once the player has recorded 7 strokes (including penalty strokes) and the ball is not yet holed, the player should pick up their ball and take a score of 7 for that hole.
Any non-played holes will result in a score of 7.
Matches are subject to a 2-hour time limit. Players may not start a hole after the limit has been reached.
Players will play “ready golf” when possible following common rules of etiquette.
If a ball is hit OB the player, you will play it as a lateral hazard (taking a penalty stroke and dropping the ball within 2 club lenths of where it last crossed the out of bounds marker).
The courses will establish a drop zone for use on holes with a water hazard, lateral water hazard, or other areas as deemed necessary.
If a ball cannot be found after searching for a maximum of 3 minutes, that ball is considered lost. The player should drop a new ball in the approximate area where the ball was lost and add one penalty stroke to their score.
Each player should fill out a scorecard prior to the round and have this ready to exchange with another player on the first tee box.
Players exchange scorecards before the round as they may not officially keep their own score.
Scores are tabulated and players verify scores at the end of the round. The scorecards require two (2) signatures - the player and the scorer.
When the match is ended, and scorecards have been signed, all golfers must turn their scorecards into their team's coach or assistant coach. (Unsigned scorecards are invalid).
Automatic Disqualifications for - club throwing - inappropriate language - cheating - not signing their scorecard
