Our goal is to give every child the opportunity to learn and develop their skill in the game of golf. The CYC Golf League is designed for beginners and no experience is necessary!
The program is broken down into two leagues: Big League and Little League. The Big League is the competitive division consisting of golfers in 5th - 8th grade. The Little League is non-competitive training league consisting of golfers from 1st - 4th grade.
Players must live within the boundaries of their parish. Sign-ups for golf run from late December to early February each year.
Contact the Athletic Association at your local parish for additional details. See Parishes to find your parish.
All coaches and volunteers must be compliant on Code of Ethics, Background Check and Protecting God’s Children courses with the Parish Office. All Head and Assistant Coaches must have their Coaching to Make a Positive Difference course completed and ID number of file with the Parish Office.
The Big League competitive division is comprised of 5th-8th graders and consists of four (4) group clinics 50 minutes in duration followed by six (6) rounds of competitive golf. Teams will be limited to a maximum of 8 and players will be grouped by gender and grade.

The competitive round are 9 holes golf matches held at either Pheasant Run Golf Course in O'Fallon, MO or Hawks Ridge Golf Club in Lake St. Louis, MO. There is a mandatory 1 hour "Rules and Etiquette" seminar held annually to review the program with parents and participants.

WHEN DOES THE SEASON START?
The Big League clinics generally start in mid-March with the competitive matches beginning in late April. Little League clinics generally begin late April.
WHEN ARE THE CLINICS AND MATCHES?
Clinics and matches will only be scheduled on Saturday and Sundays, times will vary. The schedule will not be determined until after the rosters have been completed.
WHEN CAN I REGISTER MY CHILD?
Sign ups generally begin mid-late December and run through to early February. Contact the Athletic Association at your local parish for additional details. See Parishes to find your parish.
DOES EXPERIENCE NECESSARY?
Not at all!! The CYC Golf League is designed for beginners, even those who have never touch a club. Certainly there are players who are more advanced, however the overwhelming majority of players have little to no experience.
CAN MY CHILD PLAY UP A DIVISION BASED ON SKILL LEVEL?
The answer is NO. CYC Golf is designed to be fun with friends, not competitive league. We ask everyone to be honest when registering your child in relation to their current grade.
WILL THIS INTERFERE WITH OTHER SPORTS (BASEBALL/SOFTBALL)?
This is a common question. Golf is like any other sport, there are scheduled clinics and matches. If you miss a clinic it cannot be made up, no different than if you missed a baseball game. Fortunately competitive players are able to make-up one (1) round of golf if missed.
WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT DOES MY SON OR DAUGHTER REQUIRE?
A set of golf clubs with a bag – these can be junior clubs or whatever you have available. There is a dress code as golfers need to dress appropriately.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I SPEND ON GOLF CLUBS?
That is entirely up to you with many factors such as the skill level of your golfer. Consult your local golf shop if you have more questions.
WHAT IS REQUIRED FROM ME AS A PARENT?
Encouragement and support! Local PGA Profession Instructors will take care of the clinics! And your team will be assigned a coach like any other sport. That said, we can always use coaches and team managers and need your support.
