Personal Data

Starting with personal data, I first want to define it because cybersecurity is based on Personal Data. Personal data is any information that can be used to link to you directly or indirectly. (Cloudflare) Some classic examples of personal data would be any information on your race, sex, gender, genetic data, or biometric data. More modern examples would be your IP address which is unique for each person, browsing history, location history, and phone numbers.  (ICO) All of these pieces of information are unique to you and with enough information can be used to identify you. The reason this is important is this is similar to someone having your social security number, with enough information they can do anything, be anyone, or steal more information. This is the age of information, where information has become even more valuable than currency.
