Subject Integration

Math: 

In PYPX we used math in our survey. We did a survey and used graphs for the analysis to show more of a visual picture of how many people answered. Through the graphs, we could get more information and we could use it to catch more of the audience's attention. We didn't get that many responses, but it was enough to know about a victim's life and this information also helped us with our LOI 3 Research.

English: 

In PYPX we used English in our blogs and research. For our blog, we need to have proper grammar and spelling. For research, it's connected because we had to paraphrase our work. Paraphrasing took a while since we didn't know what to put or replace it with, so we just searched up some synonyms for that word to show a simpler way of saying it. A lot of times in English, you have to rephrase it if it is a bit too formal for your language, they can consider it plagiarized.

Dance: 

For dance, we made groups. Most of us went into a big group (Elea, Shanty, Velica.) Our task was to make a dance that was related to media. In the big group, we are still discussing the song, majority of the team voted for OMG - New Jeans, so we have to use the song. In Kyra's group, they chose their song (Bitter Choco Decoration - Syudou), Kevin is the only one that is dancing individually, he is still choosing the song.

Music: 

For Music, we have to perform the song Dreamers, a few of us got chosen to perform the song Better Days by Goo Goo Dolls for the PYP Exhibition. We continued to have practice sessions after school and in school. It turns out we have some new additions to the Goo Goo Dolls performers. We also have rehearsals from time to time to remember what to do.

UOI: 

Our transdisciplinary theme right now is how we express ourselves. We chose How We Express Ourselves as our transdisciplinary theme because, at the start of Grade 5, we had a poll to choose what transdisciplinary theme should we do for the PYP exhibition. The UOI is connected to our PYP exhibition because it requires research and group work, it's also for us to be more confident because, for the PYP exhibition, you will need a lot of confidence to prepare for presentations. PYPX has also connected to our ATLs, IB learner profiles, Key concepts, and much more

Art: 

Art was related because we had to go to our PYPX groups and try designing an invitation for the exhibition. We all had to go into our PYPX groups and try to design an invitation for the final PYP exhibition. It was quite stressful because we're not very good designers, but it didn't turn out badly in the end.
