PROJECT DETAILS
The collaboration with Forvis Mazars in Nigeria was a matter of strategic importance, an opportunity to build a bridge between a leading professional services firm and the academic community. Our shared objective was to establish a sustainable framework for the development of future leaders in taxation and finance.
Our work encompassed a series of high-impact initiatives. We developed programs such as "Tax Goes to School," an outreach initiative designed to bring fundamental tax concepts to young students, and "The Tax Dinner," a platform for fostering dialogue and networking among students, professionals, and industry leaders. These events were not merely programs; they were expressions of our shared commitment to community building and educational excellence.
Beyond event execution, I engaged in strategic discussions with the firm's leadership to explore a long-term partnership. Our conversations were guided by a clear vision: to create opportunities for student mentorship and technical training that would provide them with a clear career pathway. Through this collaboration, we were able to strengthen the vital relationship between the academic and professional worlds and, in doing so, create tangible value for the students and the wider community we serve.
PROJECT DETAILS
My purpose as a delegate for The Tax Club, University of Nigeria, was to serve as a representative of our organisation and a facilitator of progress. It was my duty to contribute to a wider discourse and build a foundation for future collaboration.
In the workshops, I engaged with my peers and senior professionals in a discussion on contemporary tax issues. My focus was not just on understanding the problems but on contributing to the solutions. I provided input and evaluated proposals, ensuring that our ideas were not merely theoretical but grounded in the practical realities of our economy. The conference itself broadened my perspective on the role of youth in shaping the future of tax practices and promoting sustainability, underscoring that our work is part of a larger, global effort to build a more equitable world.
Beyond the formal sessions, I dedicated myself to a strategic mission of partnership building. I engaged with delegates from other universities, officials from the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, and other stakeholders. In doing so, I worked to foster relationships that will lead to joint programs and shared resources, which will ultimately enhance the visibility and impact of our club for years to come.
