About Me
My name is Marshal Thompson. I grew up in Underwood, MN where I graduated high school. I then attended college at Minnesota State University of Moorhead where I graduated with my Social Studies Education degree. I have been a teacher for 5 years, all of them here at Cromwell.
I currently coach Track and Field specifically the throwing disciplines: shot put and discuss. I previously coached JH Football and JH Boys Basketball and hope to resume those activities at some point in the future.
I am pursuing an Educational Masters Degree from Saint Mary's and will have that completed in the Spring of 2024.
I have been married for 2 years to my wife Amarah (pronounced like 'camera' without the 'c') and we have a son named Luca who turns 1 at the end of July. They both are the best part of my life, and I love being a husband and a father.
Some of my favorite things:
Watching movies and TV shows. Favorites include but are not limited to: Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Fiddler on the Roof, Jojo Rabbit, The Patriot, The Office, Firefly and Serenity, Band of Brothers, and Speed Racer.
Cooking (and eating of course). This is perhaps my realest hobby at the moment. I love trying out new recipes and have started to hone in on some staples, My wife and I enjoy trying new restaurants and often order several things to try and share when we do. Some of my favorite things to eat are chicken parmesan, irish stew, loaded mashed potatoes, brisket, ice cream, coffee cake, and gyros. But really I will pretty much anything once!
Running. See above favorite thing.
Sports. I grew up playing baseball and wrestling in grade school. Then in JH and High School I played football, basketball, track and field, and church league softball. Now I play a little floor hockey and coach track. But during sports seasons I root for Minnesota and Cromwell teams, even though being a Minnesota sports fan usually means disappointment. I have resigned myself to that fact and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
