Returning Students 

Hello Band Students and Families,

Welcome back to school! I am so excited to be able to see everyone in person for lessons this year! 

I can’t wait to get started with instrument lessons!  During the first rotation, I will be visiting each Music class to talk to about band lessons for this year, but the lessons should be posted in Infinite Campus.  

Getting everyone scheduled for lessons takes a little time.  Please be patient while that process takes place. The goal is to start the second rotation of the school year.

 Here are some ways that you can get ready for the first lesson of the school year:

1.   Start Practicing:

a.      Hopefully you played your instruments over the summer.  Even if you were on vacation from practicing, it’s time to get back into a daily practice routine.

b.      Practice goal: 10 minutes each day

c.       Play your favorite songs from last year or go exploring to some new songs that are coming up next in you lesson book.  Review any note names and fingerings that may be unfamiliar.

2.  First Lesson:

a.      I will send you a note to let you know when your first lesson will occur…               

b.      Band lessons will be in the band room…just around the corner from Mrs. Ralston's music room.

c.       Bring your Instrument, Music book/folder and a pencil to your lesson with you

d.      Be ready to show off what you remember from last year and to learn something new!
