Mrs. Benson
Ms. Grondziowski is excited to be teaching her second year here at Chartiers Valley Intermediate School as the band director. Before teaching here at CV, she taught for four years in Erie’s Public Schools as a middle school band director. Throughout that time, she was very successful with community outreach and providing more than 100 instruments to middle school students who were interested in music.
Ms. Grondziowski holds a Master of Music in Music Education from Carnegie Mellon University. She also holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Mercyhurst University.
Mrs. Benson:
Mrs. Benson grew up in east-central Ohio and is thrilled to be here in Chartiers Valley as the Intermediate School Orchestra Director. Mrs. Benson has taught orchestra since 2009 and has experience with grades 4-12 in Illinois, Massachusetts and North Carolina.
Mrs. Benson earned her Bachelors of Music Education from Baldwin Wallace College (now University) and a Masters in Cello Performance from The University of Iowa. Teaching orchestra is her passion and she cannot wait to help the students of CVIS become amazing musicians!
In the spring of 2021 Chartiers Valley School District was awarded with the distinction of Best Communities for Music Education for the third consecutive year. The award program recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education. Designations are made to districts and schools that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education.
