Ciao, mi chiamo Christine Xu I am currently a Junior (woo!! class of 2021!!) and I will be serving as your President for the 2020-2021 term :))
(wow i doubt anyone would notice, but i've kept the same intro every year, but swapped the language i said "hi my name is..." crazy...it's been 3 years ah! anyways...)
Quarantine is not ideal for anyone, but I'm excited to inform you that we'll stay right on top of our jobs and provide you with the same enjoyable events. Red Cross is something that I've been a part of for all 4 years of my high school experience and I'm proud to say that there is no other club that will provide you with the same opportunities to help out your community! I know for sure that you will never regret a single moment of being a part of our club! Stick around and you'll find out what I mean ;)
I'm a senior this year and wow that sounds crazy, but YAY CLASS OF 21! I rarely sleep before 3 AM, so if you ever have something you want to talk about, come message me! mm I watch a lot of kdramas and every year I put this in my bio because it is a key fact about me. I've most likely watched something you've named because I've spent all my time watching all my korean husbands :o BUT if you ever need some recommendations ;) you know who to come to! Also, being a child at heart, ice bear form We Bare Bears is my favorite and he's the cutest <3 he is the best bear of the 3 NO DEBATES. I'm in orchestra and choir, but also the tennis, basketball, and badminton team as well :) So let's go workout together and get in shape with chloe ting...then get boba haha.
The most important thing about me is that I want to hear what you guys have to say about me or the club. I want there to be changes or adjustments made so that you feel more welcomed or attached. High school is one big journey and I'm beyond grateful that I have this opportunity to run this club and meet even more of you guys. 2021 is the year! So I'll see you then and maybe it'll be in person ;) Miss you guys tons! Get ready to RED CROSS <3
Hi hi hi everyone! I’m Alex Tam and I am a senior! (GO CLASS OF 2021!!!!!) I will be one of your Vice Presidents for the 2020-2021 school year along with the amazing Ada Chen! This year is quite obviously going to be different and unique, but we are going to do our best to provide you with as much of the same Red Cross experience as we can and make it even better. I have been told that I can come across as intimidating, but I promise you that I’m not mean and I definitely don’t bite. If you have any questions, want to talk, or hang out just hit me up on social media. (It’s just my name with some extra dashes and dots on Instagram) I am pretty busy outside of school, but I’ll always find time to respond to you guys.
A little bit about me: I am a HUGE fan of Marvel, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Avatar, and Disney. I love talking about all of those so come chat with me about any of them. I also love dogs, musicals, and boba. I actually have two dogs of my own, Marvel and Cookie. One of my favorite things to do is hang out with my friends doing whatever we can think of (sometimes that’s just laying on the floor). My main hobbies include: dance, tennis, choir, and of course Red Cross. I have been playing tennis and dancing for over thirteen years now!!! I will be applying all hard work, determination, and dedication I learned through my other extra curriculars to Red Cross in order to make your experience super fun!
To wrap it all up, if you ever need someone to talk to I will always be around or if you are bored we can go play a game online! The only requirement is that you have to ask me first! Times are hard for some of you right now, but do not despair because we will get through this together. I can’t wait to meet all of you amazing people and I hope to help make this year awesome!
Hey hey!
My name is Ada Chen and I will be your Vice President this year alongside Alex T!
Although this year we are online, I believe that we are still going to have a great year together. I bet you will fall in love with our club just like I did. I am currently a junior and I have been in the Red Cross Club since my freshman year. The Red Cross Club has played a big part in my life. Each year I have made many new friends, new memories and new experiences. I would not trade all of that for anything else. I hope you will join and make such amazing memories as well.
A few things you should know about me is that I like to watch kdramas A LOT. If you ever are in need of recommendations or want to talk about a drama with someone then I am here. I spend my other free time drinking boba, working out, tutoring or spending time with my family.
You can tell me if you ever have any concerns regarding the club, school or anything!
Well thank you for reading my bio and have a good day!
Hello! I’m Gladys Au, and I am your Secretary for the 2020-2021 Red Cross Board! :)
Back in freshman year, I joined Red Cross because I was interested in helping the community and the people around us (also this dude was aggressively advertising the club, but it’s chill). Ever since then, I have stayed because of the amazing people I’ve met and the interesting events all year round. Many of the opportunities offered by Red Cross are not available anywhere else, so it really is a unique experience participating in this club to help others in need.
Outside of Red Cross, I’m a junior who’s in desperate need of sleep and snacks. I have three birds and one dog, so it’s always noisy in my house. I love listening to music, watching anime, and I also dance at CVPA :) I also love to talk, so if we ever go back to school in person (or zoom is fine too), I’ll love to meet all of you and just talk and chill :)
As we all know, this school year is new and challenging for all of us. Club activities will be different, but we’ll do our best to make them safe and fun. I’m still excited to see what this year has to offer, even if it is a little tough right now. With this in mind, I hope that all of you have a wonderful 2020 and 2021 :)
Stay safe and don’t stress too much! :)
Hi Red Cross! My name is Ethan To and I am the Red Cross treasurer for the 2020-2021 school year! Currently I’m a Junior and some things I do at school are link crew, choir, and color guard. Outside of school, I tutor and watch anime in my free time (one of my favorites is Banana Fish because it made me cry). This year, I’m so excited to be able to work with the club money! I can’t wait to start setting up fundraisers for the club because I absolutely love it! I’ve been in red cross for three years now and this is my second year being an officer. Some things I love about red cross are the events and the people because I made a lot of great friends and memories through this club and I will always have a special place in my heart for it! I hope COVID-19 gets cleared up as quick as possible because I want to get back to going to events and meeting you guys! Until then, I hope to see you guys at our virtual meetings :).
Aye what’s up! My name is Andrew and I am elated to be your Public Relations Officer this year! I love the energy of the Red Cross and I am thrilled to be able to share with you all the exciting opportunities we have upcoming. As your Public Relations officer, I will make sure all of our club members feel informed and welcomed! Especially with what’s going on right now, it is extremely important that we as Red Crossers find ways to help our community and stay connected! I hope our website, social media accounts and Remind are streamlined and easy to navigate as possible.
I still remember the first event I went to with the Red Cross. It was a foggy morning and I was tired from waking up so early. However, everyone was so welcoming and the vibes were so great that it made me feel so energized! I was able to meet so many cool people not only from our club, but from other Red Cross clubs all around the Bay! Ever since then, I knew the Red Cross was a club I wanted to be in and stay in. That feeling of being able to give back and meet new people is so rewarding!
Other than helping the community out with the Red Cross, I enjoy photography, running and skating. You can always catch me on a train into the city trying to find new cool spots! I also love coffee. I know that’s not really a personality trait but I honestly have never loved something more! I have a cat named Misty and she is my best friend. I also play both the violin and the viola. One fun fact I always tell people is that I am yellow-green colorblind. I would like to apologize in advance when I try to tell two M&Ms apart but can’t. By the way, GRAPHIC DESIGN IS MY PASSION. I will try and make our club flyers the most aesthetic on campus.
I cannot wait to meet all of you! It really is our members that make our club the best on CVHS! Hopefully we can become friends! Even through these strange times, we are going to have a blast helping others and giving back. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions/suggestions or just wanna talk about anything in general! I don’t bite, I swear! This is YOUR club and together we will make it AWESOME!
Hi everyone! My name is Delenn, I’m a junior and I am very excited to be serving as your 2020-2021 Red Cross Historian! I can’t wait to work with my fellow members and hopefully get to know everyone who is a part of the club. A little bit about me is that I love volunteering and taking photos. I’m also a big fan of crime documentaries and horror movies so if you have any recommendations let me know I’m always open to watching new movies no matter how old or cheesy they may be. I enjoy spending my free time watching movies with my cats or attempting to teach them tricks even though they never learn and are just in it for the food. I also enjoy making new friends so if you ever see me around be sure to come up and say hi I’d be happy to talk to you. Let’s make this year a great one!
Hi everyone! My name is Alex Huang. I’m currently a sophomore and I’ll be one of your Committee Chairs during the 2020-2021 school year! As one of your Committee Chairs, I will help out with events and the other officers!
In my free time, I love sleeping and volunteering. During shelter-in-place, I’ve been sleeping a lot, which made me feel very nice 🙂. I play piano and tennis, although I’m not good at it 😞. I also like spending time with my family and friends. I’m very curious, so always feel free to tell me anything! I’m always interested to learn new things!
A fun fact about me is that I’m allergic to dairy. I can’t eat ice cream 😞.
I know I always look mean, but that’s just because I’m always so sleepy. I promise you that I’m not mean, so feel free to say hi to me! I’m so excited to be one of your Committee Chairs this year and thanks for reading my bio! Looking forward to meeting you!
Hi y’all! My name is Ashley, and I’m currently a junior at CVHS. I’m one of your Committee Chairs (along with Cecilia and Alex) for the 2020-2021 school year! My job will be to assist the other officers with whatever they need help with. I look forward to getting to know you guys in the club and I hope that you’ll discover how amazing Red Cross is!
Here are some things about me: I was born in China and I moved to the U.S. when I was still a tiny potato in elementary school. Miraculously, my ability to speak Cantonese and Mandarin is still intact, so feel free to talk to me in Chinese (go to Cecilia for help with Chinese homework though, I’m no good at proverbs or grammar). When I’m not rushing to finish school assignments due at 11:59 pm (severe procrastination TT), I like to draw, listen to music, binge watch some anime (occasionally some k-drama, but they’re so long I always end up not finishing), and spend time on the camera. I love to take photos and I enjoy the process of editing them!! I also love food...eating is a healing process for me, but one thing: Noodles > rice!!! One of my goals in life is to go skydiving or bungee jumping ^ ^
Anyways, thank you for reading my bio!! I am super excited to be working with the other officers and helping with the club this year. I can’t wait to see you guys in our virtual meetings and I look forward to meeting y’all in person one day!
Hello everyone! My name is Cecilia, and I will be one of your Committee Chairs for this year! I have been volunteering with the ARC club since freshman year because it always has fun events that can help me meet new people and make friends with while serving our community. Even though we are having virtual meetings at the beginning of the year, it is still going to be interesting! You should definitely join us at the club meetings and events!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I’m currently a junior, and I’m struggling to finish my homework every day (yes, time management is soooo important!!) I lived in China for 12 years, and I speak fluent Mandarin and Cantonese. If you need help with your Chinese homework, I’m here for you hahaha! In my free time, I like to listen to music, and I love all kinds of music. Feel free to share your favorite songs with me! I do not know how to play any instruments, but I’m taking Guitar this year, and hopefully one day I can play some songs. ;))
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I am looking forward to getting to know y’all! :))
