I am a licensed clinical social worker who has provided clinical support to children, adolescents and adults for more than 25 years. I have been in private practice for over fifteen years. I also work with children and families as a school social worker in Guilderland Central Schools.
I am dedicated to helping children, adolescents and adults no longer feel consumed by their worries so they can regain a sense of balance and happiness in their lives. Together we will develop a plan that identifies the social emotional needs of you or your child. I will implement evidence based targeted interventions to promote you or your child's well-being. I have significant experience working with children, adolescents, and adults who exhibit a wide variety of behavioral health needs including anxiety, depression , ADHD and mood disorders. I specialize in the treatment of all forms of anxiety including phobias and OCD.
I received an MSW in Clinical Social Work from Boston College. I utilize a variety of clinical approaches in my practice adapted to fit the age, interests, and treatment needs of your child. My primary interventions are based in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) because it has been researched extensively and is ranked one of the most effective methods of treatment. I also have certification in grief work. Other approaches I use in my practice are mindfulness, play therapy, DBT and ACT. I earned certification from the International OCD Foundation to treat pediatric OCD in 2017 and use CBT-ERP. I have been Certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
On a personal level, I find inspiration in my life from spending time with my husband and my two children, doing yoga and meditation, traveling, visiting oceans, lakes or waterfalls, kayaking, reading books, and enjoying time with family and friends.
