This presentation examines "C ASEAN Consonant”, a contemporary ensemble of young musicians from all ten member states of ASEAN, as a transformative model for ASEAN Music Education through the lens of musicking. Beyond artistic excellence, the project serves as a practical manifestation of the ASEAN Strategic Plan on Education, fostering regional identity, social cohesion, and "ASEANness" among the youth. The study explores how the ensemble’s motto, "In Music We Share, Through Music We Change," aligns with the core principles of Global Citizenship Education (GCED), specifically in developing empathy, cultural literacy, and collective responsibility.
From an ethnomusicological and pedagogical perspective, the ensemble functions as a "Sonic Classroom" where participants engage in deep intercultural dialogue. The project highlights the process of negotiating diverse musical systems and social norms, suggesting that such transnational collaboration is essential for cultivating Intercultural Competence - a vital skill for 21st-century learners. By analysing the ensemble’s dynamics, the article argues that music education can transcend technical training to become a powerful tool for Peace Education and regional integration.
Furthermore, this project advocates for a shift in Music Teacher Education within the region. It encourages music educators and policymakers to move beyond nationalistic curricula toward a more inclusive, "ASEAN-centric" pedagogy. Drawing from the project's decade-long resilience (2015–present), including its adaptation during the COVID-19 pandemic, the article provides actionable insights for educators to design collaborative learning environments that celebrate diversity. Ultimately, "C ASEAN Consonant" is presented not just as a performance group, but as a pedagogical blueprint for nurturing a sense of belonging in a multicultural society, urging educators to integrate these "sounds of coexistence" into their own teaching practices.

การย้อนพินิจและนำเสนอโครงการซีอาเซียนคอนโซแนนท์ (C ASEAN Consonant) ซึ่งเป็นโครงการวงดนตรีร่วมสมัยที่ประกอบด้วยนักดนตรีรุ่นเยาว์จากสมาชิกอาเซียนทั้ง 10 ประเทศ ในฐานะต้นแบบของดนตรีศึกษาเพื่อประชาคมอาเซียน ผ่านกรอบแนวคิด musicking โดยมองข้ามความเป็นเลิศทางศิลปะเพียงอย่างเดียว และให้ความสำคัญกับโครงการในฐานะพื้นที่ปฏิบัติจริงของแผนยุทธศาสตร์ด้านการศึกษาของอาเซียน อันนำไปสู่การก่อรูปอัตลักษณ์ร่วมของภูมิภาค ความสมานฉันท์ทางสังคม และความรู้สึกร่วมในความเป็นอาเซียนในหมู่เยาวชน
จากมุมมองมานุษยวิทยาดนตรีและดนตรีศึกษาที่ตีความคติพจน์ของวง “In Music We Share, Through Music We Change” ว่าเป็นการแปรหลักการของการศึกษาเพื่อความเป็นพลเมืองโลก (Global Citizenship Education) ให้กลายเป็นประสบการณ์ที่มีชีวิต โดยเฉพาะในมิติของความเห็นอกเห็นใจ การรู้เท่าทันวัฒนธรรม และความรับผิดชอบร่วมกัน วงดนตรีทำหน้าที่เสมือนห้องเรียนแห่งเสียง ซึ่งผู้เข้าร่วมได้เปิดบทสนทนาข้ามวัฒนธรรมอย่างต่อเนื่อง ผ่านการต่อรองระหว่างระบบดนตรี ค่านิยมทางสุนทรียะ และบรรทัดฐานทางสังคมที่หลากหลาย ผลการปฏิบัติการเสนอว่า ความร่วมมือทางดนตรีข้ามพรมแดนเช่นนี้มีบทบาทสำคัญในการปลูกฝังสมรรถนะข้ามวัฒนธรรม ซึ่งเป็นทักษะจำเป็นของผู้เรียนในศตวรรษที่ 21 ดนตรีศึกษาจึงสามารถก้าวข้ามการฝึกฝนเชิงเทคนิค ไปสู่การเป็นเครื่องมือเชิงสันติศึกษาและการบูรณาการระดับภูมิภาคอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ
นอกจากนี้ จากบทเรียนความยืดหยุ่นของโครงการตลอดทศวรรษที่ผ่านมา (พ.ศ. 2558–ปัจจุบัน) รวมถึงการปรับตัวในช่วงวิกฤตโควิด-19 บทความนี้เสนอให้มีการปรับแนวทางการผลิตครูดนตรีในภูมิภาค โดยสนับสนุนการก้าวข้ามหลักสูตรแบบชาตินิยม ไปสู่การจัดการเรียนการสอนที่มีอาเซียนเป็นศูนย์กลางมากยิ่งขึ้น ในท้ายที่สุด C ASEAN Consonant มิได้ถูกนำเสนอเพียงในฐานะคณะแสดงดนตรี หากแต่เป็นพิมพ์เขียวทางการศึกษาในการหล่อหลอมความรู้สึกเป็นส่วนหนึ่ง การอยู่ร่วมกัน และอนาคตร่วมของสังคมอาเซียนพหุวัฒนธรรม
