The first thing you will need to get is Magma Stone, this new ore can be found all over the nether just waiting to be picked up.
With this acquired you can make the Scorched Kiln by surrounding a furnace on all sides with Magma Stone.
In a Crafting Table or your inventory make a 2x2 square of Magma Stone to get Unscorched Magma Brick. Putting this in the top of the Scorched Kiln and Magma Stone underneath you can make normal Magma Brick
Surrounding Firestone (A new block found in the nether and the Curselands) with Magma Bricks gets you a portal block which when right clicked brings you to the Curselands!
