FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to participate?

Any current CUNY undergraduate or master's student is eligible to participate as a student.

Do I have to be a math major to participate?

No! Seriously, anyone is eligible.  That includes both STEM and non-STEM majors.

What's expected from a DRP student?

You will meet weekly over the course of a semester with your graduate student mentor with the goal of progressing through a mathematical text. At the end of the semester, you will give a brief presentation on one aspect of what you learned during the program. You should plan to work for 5 hours (on average) between each meeting.

What's the goal of the DRP?

The goal is for you to learn something in mathematics that you would not have learned in your standard undergraduate classes, all while being supported and mentored by a graduate student.

When does the DRP run?

The program currently runs from February to May, with applications being due in early January.
