Cunningham Dojo was pleased to host Kyoshi LD Tomlinson (far right, kneeling) and Sensei Erica Smith (far left, kneeling) for a day of training. Both of these outstanding instructors shared their knowledge with martial artists from all around the Eastern NC region. Topics that were covered included competition sparring, Neko ryu Jujitsu, kata analysis, and 'thinking outside the box'. It was a great day of training!
Master Advicula Seminar

Several Cunningham Dojo students had the rare opportunity to train with Master Arcenio Advicula (seated in chair, center front) from California. Master Advicula is a first-generation student of Shimabuku Tatsuo Soke - founder of the Isshinryu system of karate. Master Advicula covered body dynamics, breathing, conditioning, and escrima. It was a great day of training with one of the great minds in Isshinryu.

Fall Workout - October 17, 2015
It was our pleasure to host Shihan Danny Glover at our dojo in Tarboro for a day of in-depth training and camaraderie. We covered Fuku Kata Ichi, Seisan bunkai, balance and dachi strength, and bunkai/applications of various other kata. There was a great Q&A time toward the end of the workout that provided a number of great nuggets of information. Thank you Shihan Glover and Kyoshi Cunningham for making this time possible! Thanks also to the several instructors who attended with their own students, including Master Steve Simma, Master Dean Scott, Sensei Steve Lewis, Sensei Alan Kent, and Sensei Ryland Matthews.
