There will be spots for 2 scouts every 15 minutes. Please book your spot here! (link coming soon). This will be the only clinic availalbe. Scouts unable to join will have to build their car at home.
Registered cub scouts will have kits provided to them free of charge. Parents/siblings can purchase a car only kit for $8 or a full weighted car kit for $20.
6:30 PM – Doors open. Welcome, overview of stations, and rules reminder.
6:35–8:00 PM – Open Station Time.
Scouts/parents move through the first few stations in any order, but must end with Graphite application and then final Check-In.
8:00 PM – Last call for starting at a station.
8:15 PM – All cars must be in the check-in queue. Scouts will receive their licenses after their car is checked in.
8:30 PM – Event ends.
Key Rule: Once checked in, cars stay overnight. No further modifications.
Parents: We will need 11 parents to sit at various stations and help the scouts complete their cars as well as complete a final check-in and trade the final car for a Derby license. Please sign up here and choose the station you'd like to help with.
11:00 AM – 11:40 AM – Judging Period (40 mins).
Cars displayed by number with a visible entry form listing the Scout's name and car name.
Director of Design and Innovation will hand out judging kits for scouts.
Categories will be: Most Aerodynamic, Most Original Shape, Most Artistic Paint, and Best Theme Car.
11:40 AM – 12:10 PM – LUNCH BREAK & Judges' Tally (30 mins).
Families eat. Judges retreat to tally final scores and select winners.
12:10 PM – Opening Ceremony (5-10 mins).
Review race rules and sportsmanship pledge.
12:20 PM – Racing Begins.
~1:45/2:00 PM – Final heats and overall speed winners announced. This is an estimated time for ending the races. It may be longer or shorter.
Post-Race – Award ceremony for speed winners. Cars returned to scouts.
