ASSIGNMENTS
In order to submit your assignment successfully, it is recommended that you do the following:
Follow the step by step guide on How to submit an assignment
Ensure that you are using a browser; Google Chrome/Microsoft Edge/Safari/Firefox and NOT Opera Mini or Google Search
Ensure that you have selected the correct file before submitting
If any error occurs during submission, screenshot immediately and alert your lecturer.
Retain the submission confirmation email
Screenshot the submission confirmation and retain the screenshot. This may be necessary in a case where your lecturer does not find your submission.
TEST AND QUIZZES
In order to avoid potential problems during an assessment, it is recommended that you do the following:
Use a supported web browser, such as the most recent version of Firefox, Google Chrome, or Microsoft Edge.
DO NOT use Opera Mini or Google Search.
Clear cache in your browser.
Make sure that you DO NOT have multiple windows or tabs open during the exam. This might interfere with the saving process.
DO NOT use your browser's back and forward buttons. Always navigate within Thuto.
For timed exams, remember that once you begin the exam, the timer will continue to count down. This is true if you lose internet connection, your browser crashes, or you simply exit and close your browser window.
Make sure that you only click on the Begin Assessment button ONCE when starting an exam.
Make sure that you only click on the Submit for Grading button ONCE when submitting an exam. Please ensure to confirm the submission.
Make sure that you periodically click on the SAVE button to ensure that your answers are saved.
Make sure to screenshot any error that you come across during the exam. Share the screenshot with your lecturer and describe the error you encountered.
Clear your browser cache. The more information saved on your browser, the slower it will be. Read the section below on how to clear the cache.
On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app .
At the top right, tap More .
Tap History Clear browsing data.
At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
Next to "Cookies and site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.
Tap Clear data.
Click the menu button and select Options.
Select the Privacy & Security panel.
In the Cookies and Site Data section, click Clear Data….
Safari
In the Safari app on your Mac, choose History > Clear History, then click the pop-up menu.
Choose how far back you want your browsing history cleared.

Login Problems
Students: Check that your userid is preceeded by a lower case s. For example if your student number is 201600123, your userid is s201600123.
Staff: Check that your userid is preceeded by a lower case p. For example if your NUL employment number is 201600123, your userid is p201600123.
If you are a student or staff member and still need to reset/change your Thuto password, please use the Password Self Service to reset your password.

You can navigate to any Help article by clicking on the title of a collection name in the contents pane on the left to expand the collection, and then clicking on the article title.
