Learning standards for Computer Science have been combined with Digital Literacy in the State Education Department's "Computer Science and Digital Fluency Learning Standards".
There are Five Specific Concept Areas:
Impacts of Computing
Computational Thinking
Networks and Systems Design
Cybersecurity
Digital Literacy
Each Concept Area identifies between five and ten learning objectives grouped into five grade-bands: K-1, 2-3, 4-6, 7-8, and 9-12.
In all, there are 170 progressive standards all New York State students are expected to master throughout their K-12 experience.
Over 839 individuals contributed to these learning standards, with the majority of contributors being K-12 educators and administrators.
