TOPIC OVERVIEW
Proper Use of Hand Tools
In this topic, students can expect to develop a comprehensive understanding of how to safely and effectively use hand tools. They will learn the steps required to prepare for tasks, select and maintain tools, use them properly, and ensure their longevity. Students will also gain a strong understanding of personal safety and how to handle tools with care to avoid accidents and ensure high-quality results. This will be a practical, hands-on learning experience that will prepare students for real-world applications of hand tools.
By the end of this topic, students will be fully equipped to assess tasks, select and use the right hand tools, apply safety precautions, and maintain their tools for future use, all while ensuring quality and safety throughout the entire process.

LIST OF LESSONS
1. Conduct Assessment and Planning
Students will learn how to read and interpret task/work plans, including understanding task requirements and instructions. They will be trained in preparing for the task by organizing their work area, gathering necessary tools, and identifying any potential challenges. Proper planning ensures efficiency and safety during the task.
2. Practice Personal Safety Precautions
Students will understand the common workplace hazards and risks associated with using hand tools. They will learn the importance of using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and ear protection. Additionally, general safety guidelines will be discussed, including how to avoid injury and maintain a safe working environment.
3. Tool Selection & Inspection
Students will learn about different types of hand tools and how to select the right one for a specific task. They will be taught how to inspect tools before use, ensuring they are clean, undamaged, and in good working condition. 4. Perform the Task Using Hand Tools
