The Drug Task Force is responsible for identifying, disrupting, and dismantling narcotics operations within Bartow County. DTF members conduct undercover work, surveillance operations, controlled buys, and long-term investigations into drug trafficking organizations of our county. This unit works closely with state and other department partners to keep illegal substances off the streets and protect the community from drug-related crime.
The Canine Division utilizes highly trained K-9 teams to assist deputies in specialized operations, including narcotics detection, tracking fleeing suspects, and evidence recovery. K-9 handlers undergo advanced certification and maintain strict training standards to ensure the safety, reliability, and effectiveness of their canine partners in both patrol and investigative functions.
The HEAT Division focuses on roadway safety through traffic enforcement. This unit targets DUI offenses, reckless driving, aggressive operation, and other high-risk behaviors on county roadways. H.E.A.T deputies receive specialized training in DUI detection, high-speed operations, crash response, and traffic law. Their mission is to reduce fatalities and keep Bartow County’s roadways safe.
The Professional Standards Division ensures the integrity, accountability, and professionalism of the Sheriff’s Office. This division oversees internal affairs investigations, policy compliance, training audits, deputy conduct reviews, and administrative evaluations. Professional Standards ensures that every member of the agency upholds the department’s values, follows established procedures, and maintains public trust.
CID is tasked with investigating major crimes, including homicides, robberies, fraud, property crimes, and other complex cases. Detectives conduct interviews, process crime scenes, analyze evidence, and work closely with prosecutors to bring offenders to justice. CID maintains a high level of investigative expertise and provides support to patrol units during ongoing investigations.
The SWAT Team responds to high-risk incidents requiring advanced tactics, specialized equipment, and elevated training. This includes hostage situations, armed barricaded subjects, high-risk warrant service, counter-assault operations, and critical incident response. SWAT operators undergo advanced physical, tactical, and weapons proficiency training to safely resolve situations that exceed standard patrol capabilities.
