Texts

The Texts Domain consists of five Big Ideas: Context, Structure & Style, Techniques, Research and Analysis, and Periods and Movement. Within each Big Idea, the grade band standards are included. The expectations found within each standard focus closely on the skills and concepts students need know and be able to use as they progress through the years. The standards and expectations build on each other as the grade levels advance. At the bottom of the page, one can access the Texts Standards by grade band via the link to Inspire. Additionally, other GaDOE resources used within this session are linked through Inspire. 

Participants are asked to bring nonfiction and fiction literary samples to the session to complete the activities during the workshop. Participants will focus on mentor sentences from the texts to apply standards as well as the expectations found within the standards.
