The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) is a group of Caribbean countries working together to strengthen economic growth, cooperation, and opportunities for their people.
Belize became a part of CARICOM on 1 May 1974.
CARICOM consists of 15 Member States (Antigua & Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago)
The CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) allow for the free movement of goods, services, capital, and CARICOM nationals within the Caribbean Community.
The CSME facilitates the free movement of skilled labor and provides a framework for establishing businesses across participating Member States without the need for work permits.
The CSME consists of 14 Member States; The Bahamas does not participate in the CSME.
