In the project we had to take a social media addiction quiz and take that quiz and inform the mass about the impact of social media on society and students
“YouTube by and large is the most widely used online platform measured in our survey. Roughly eight-in-ten U.S. adults (83%) report ever using the video-based platform.” (Gottfried Americans' social media use) I used this stat because I fall directly into that 83%, I have used YouTube since I was 7 looking up derrick mason highlights and I still use YouTube almost every day one of the greatest social media inventions.
In my opinion, social media has fundamentally altered how we interact, communicate, and perceive the world. On the one hand, it offers unparalleled connectivity, allowing us to maintain relationships across distances and access information instantaneously. The other is this constant connectivity can also lead to feelings of anxiety, inadequacy, and a diminished ability to live in the present moment. Ultimately, I believe the impact on social media is complex and layered but not completely as bad as you think.
I learned that I have a healthy relationship with social media, I also learned that initially the web was a place for information and not the many comments and or reviews of blog posts. I also am a statistic in terms of adults who use YouTube.
