Summary

In addition to defining basic network, hardware, software, and internet concepts, this lesson examined how database software is used to access, sort, and analyze data and information. 

What I learned:

In the course of this unit, my understanding of databases and databases management systems (DBMS) have improved considerably. Before this unit I did not really have a clear idea of what databases and if it was put to me to provide a definition of a database, I feel I would have only had a rough understanding. This unit has helped me to learn what they really are and that I have a full idea of what the term data means, (which covers DBMS, wisdom, knowledge, records and queries). The subject of this unit is new, and also made me review things which I had previously thought I knew.
