• When you Click a link, your browser reads the URL and finds the address of the Web server.

• The browser sends an HTTP request to that server asking for the webpage. 

• The server processes the request and sends back a HTTP response with the websites files, HTML, CSS, image and more. 

• The browser downloads those files and puts them together 

• Lastly the browser displays the webpage on your screen.
