This project is showing the digital divide within different global communities. I chose Czechia and my teammate chose Japan, so we compared and contrasted some differences in technology for both. One interesting fact I learned about technology in Czechia is that technology is considered 'young and masculine'-therefore there is a disparity for older women. In Japan I learned that older adults who use technology have a lower risk of decline; however the elderly are the group who use tech less.
I learned that different parts of the world have different access to technology and digital materials. Overall, the two places my partner and I chose, have a slimmer digital divide than some of the more poor countries in the world. We collaborated on this project by each doing our research on our selected place (Japan and Czechia), then we started writing our WORD document, then we each did a couple pages of the PowerPoint and shared it with each other so we could each add our ideas and research. We each researched our topic and then came together to send each other what we found so we could put it into a PowerPoint. This is one of my favorite projects of the semester even though at first it seemed rather daunting (I've never done a group project in an online class before.)
