Difference between Internet & WWW – The internet is the global network infrastructure of interconnected computers. The World Wide Web is a service on top of the internet that consists of documents & resources which you access using a web browser.
Browser – An app that retrieves files from the internet & displays them as web pages on a user’s screen, allowing access to websites.
URL – The Uniform Resource Locator is the web address for a resource on the internet.
A digital footprint is the information about you that is on the internet and open for everyone to see. It's like a representation of yourself on the internet, so you have to be careful of what you put out about yourself online. Once it's on the internet, it's there forever.
I was surprised at how much information actually came up about me when I Googled myself and how easy it was to find it all. I forgot some of the pictures that came up under "images" I actually still had up on social media.
I also saw a lot of things I expected to see. I saw all of my social media profile links, my college recruitment profile I made, and recent pictures posted to my social media accounts.
I really liked this unit and my favorite part was Googling myself and actually getting to see what came up. I was surprised at how much was on there from all of my social medias and even found an Italian guy with my exact same name.
