In Unit 6, I learned about databases and data analysis. A database is a way to store information so you can find it quickly. For example, a school database stores student names, IDs, and grades. Data analysis means looking at that information to answer questions, like “Which unit had the highest average score?”
This table shows student test scores.
I sorted them and found the average = 86.4.
I created a simple example using a list of five students and their test scores. I sorted the scores from highest to lowest and found the average. This is the first step in moving from data (just numbers) to wisdom (useful knowledge).
Databases help you organize and search for information easily.
Data analysis lets you summarize numbers (like average or highest score).
Without a good database, finding answers takes much longer.
I enjoyed this unit because I always wondered how websites and apps can show me “top 10” lists or averages. Now I understand the basic idea. I still need to learn more about complex databases, but this unit gave me a strong start. If I had more time, I would try to build a small database in Google Sheets and practice sorting and filtering.
