In Unit 2, I learned about information hierarchy and information systems. I also practiced using three important types of software: word processing, presentation software, and spreadsheet software. These are tools we use every day in school and work.
I learned how computers organize information from simple data into useful knowledge and wisdom. I also learned to tell the difference between a word processor (like Microsoft Word), presentation software (like PowerPoint), and a spreadsheet (like Excel). Each one has a different job, and I practiced using all of them.
I found this unit useful because now I know why we use different software for different jobs. For example, I used to write everything in Word, but now I understand that Excel is much better for calculations. I also enjoyed learning about the information hierarchy. It helped me think about how raw data (like a list of numbers) can become wisdom (like making a smart decision). These are basic skills, but they are very important for my future studies.
