This project was to design a working desktop PC by selecting each component. We listed the name, description, price, quantity, and link to the items that we chose for the build. I have built multiple computers in real life so this part of the project was easy for me.
My build was made to be implimented in real life as an upgrade to my personal desktop PC. The main goals of the build were to upgrade the components that were throttling my current workstation's performance. This involved upgrades to GPU, RAM, and high speed SSD storage. I also wanted to be able to do some higher resolution gaming so I aimed for a 1440p system. The overall system came out to $1500 after some extra components such as thermal paste, case fans, and more hard drive storage.
During this project, I gained more experience installing M.2 SSD drives, something that I had only done a couple times before. I also selected a case with a design that I have never used before so it will be a fun challenge to find space for all of the components. It will also be interesting to figure out how to do wire management in this new case. Finally, the fan system I got allows for daisy chaining and RGB control from a centralized hub. This is yet another aspect that was new to me for this project.
