Sturgeon Heights Collegiate
Student Success Expo
Student Success Expo
Simply put, this is a one day, afternoon / evening event here at Sturgeon Heights Collegiate to celebrate the success of how great the students at Sturgeon Heights are, the great work they do, and the great skills they have. The event is for all our Sturgeon Heights students to tour and participate in the expo to see the great things their fellow classmates are doing. We also like to invite other schools, parents, and our community to come and help celebrate the success of our students here at Sturgeon Heights.
The Student Success Expo will take place on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026
The Student Success Expo is like a combination of an exposition (or “expo”), a convention (like “Comic Con”), a Science fair, and a mini competition (like a "mini" Skills Manitoba) all mixed together
We hope the students will be excited to get involved and be proud of themselves for showing off the various school and extra curricular work they do and the skills they have acquired!
It is also like an interactive "pep rally" run by our students for our students doing different things in different areas
Each "booth" or area at the expo can celebrate their student success in a multitude of different ways - for example, it could just be a display where you can talk to students and ask questions, it could be interactive and you could "try out" an area and the students will guide you, and even a mini student competition that you can see and students can participate in
Not really, that event focuses on “selling” the school overall to parents and prospective students whereas this event is more of a celebration
It could be seen a little like an open house, but this event focuses on our current students and showcase the work and skills they have done after almost one semester of the year (or from last year)
Other school events have a strong teacher and administration presence, but the expo is for the students and by the students
We want ALL our students to be involved, but the expo is open to any program (course, class, etc.), any extra curricular (sports, teams, clubs, and other school and student based groups), or literally any student success we can celebrate here from Sturgeon Heights
Although we certainly have staff, teachers, and administration help plan the event - the main focus is to have our Sturgeon Heights students at the expo not only to run the various "booths", but also to act as ambassadors, guides, and helpers to run the expo all afternoon and into the evening
