Kevin is interested in becoming a pharmacist, but he learned that there are two kinds of pharmacists - retail pharmacists and clinical pharmacists. Kevin wants to find out what are the differences between these two types of pharmacists in terms of their daily routine. He learned that ResiLens provides realistic simulations using VR headsets of different types of specialties in medicine. He decided to try ResiLens to experience the daily work of a retail pharmacist.
The videos below showcase Kevin's perspective through the VR glasses and some example tasks that he can experience as part of a retail pharmacist's daily routine.
Kevin is able to interact with the computer and see how pharmacists verify prescription orders, checking to see that it is filled correctly. Made-up data of patients will show up on the computer. During this process, a patient question comes up and Kevin can answer the question.
Kevin is able to practice consulting a patient. In this scenario, a patient is describing symptoms of pain and offers two medications. Kevin can choose between the two medications suitable for the patient's needs. This is a type of work that a clinical pharmacist doesn't have to handle, and Kevin is glad to learn this!
Kevin is able to practice filling prescription orders, checking the screen for the medication needed, and grabbing the correct medication to fulfill the prescription order.
