Time Lapse videos are a useful method of showing gradual change over a long period of time in a compressed format. This was accomplished by utilizing the time lapse feature from the menu within the iPhone camera app.
This 3D print was performed on an Ender 3 V2 using orange PLA filament. Total print time was approximately 1 hour 7 minutes.
Application:
This video can be used to discuss the 3-dimensional cartesian coordinate system that is used with 3D printers.
Also important with 3D printing are temperature settings, cooling fan speeds, filament type, bed adhesion, support structures, etc. Failed prints occur regularly, which provides an opportunity to analyze the problem and construct a solution.
NGSS engineering standards can be incorporated into a lesson regarding the SEP of Identifying Problems & Designing Solutions.
