Citizens for
Safety & Community

Citizens for Safety and Community (CSC) is a diverse group of Silver City residents that includes, among others, retired educators and school district personnel, university professors, social workers, a lawyer, and a local business owner. Some of us were born here; some have made our lives and careers here and raised our children here; some have come more recently. We all are drawn to this purpose by a deep love for our community and support of its governing institutions. We want things to continue to work well, and the changing times are requiring that our institutions adapt in order to do their jobs justly and effectively.

Citizens for Safety and Community's main goal is to establish a permanent citizen advisory board, determined and established by the Town of Silver City, to support the local police department in its work. You can read our proposal for this board here.
