Meet the Artists on Friday

Supported in part by

Sophie Park

Sophie Park is a Korean American photojournalist based in Boston, MA. Her perspectives are shaped by her semi-nomadic upbringing in Missouri, New Jersey, and in Cambodia. She is especially interested in stories around politics, diaspora, human rights, and various social issues.

Keiko Hiromi

Keiko Hiromi is a Japanese photographer based in Boston and Tokyo. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, magazines such as Der Spiegel, Elle, Vanity Fair, and many publications around the globe. Keiko has exhibited internationally, two solo exhibitions in Tokyo and Massachusetts Statehouse.

Both Sophie and Keiko will present on their photography work and host an audience Q&A, followed by a workshop on how lighting affects images.

Meet the Artist on Saturday

Bren Bataclan is a Filipino-American artist who lives in Boston. He gives away paintings around the world with a note: “This painting is yours if you promise to smile at random people more often.” Bren has given away over 3,000 paintings in about 80 countries.

Bren's drawing workshop will be part of our Saturday event. Visit the Saturday event page to learn more about Bren and his art.

To learn more about all the artists and their art work, visit the

Cambridge-Somerville Asian Festival created the Traveling Exhibit to showcase the works of these talented Asian artists. The art show will "travel" to public schools in Cambridge and Somerville, where we hope to educate and inspire students from K-12.
