Implanted ideas can also be more effective at communication because of their stronger associated emotions. This allows for greater misuse as well.
Networked Communications
While communication is not a major theme in Inception the possibility of brain interfaces in communicating ideas is very interesting. Brain to brain interfacing could allow for immense innovations in education, information spreading, and even military application. It would also provide another means of information control for governments of private organizations with interest in narrative and thought control, with intercepted communications potentially allowing for literal mind control. As such a means of control would be far too complicated to be understood by a layman, unlike, say, snail mail, recognizing and preventing such interference could become a major issue for a society with such technologies to figure out. Inception, Itself, explores what could be seen as a sort of high jacking of brain activity, which the characters use to great effect.
