We have a number of mechanisms and schemes to work with industrial and commercial partners, both formal and informal. Activities and links with business and industry are varied, and range from work placement for students, to consultancy on technical and research activities. We also act as a gateway, giving access to a range of expertise available within the University.
One mechanisms is student project based work, which is typically free (unless there are specific resources required), though the outcomes are not guaranteed. Another mechanism is the Knowledge Transfer Partnership: a government scheme with funding; this enables recent graduates to be employed with supervision from staff within the university, working on problems that have an innovative development element.
