PASA Values & Recommendations to CHUFSD
PASA Values & Recommendations to CHUFSD
We believe that safety for all students in school is essential.
We believe that hate and bigotry have no place in our schools.
We believe that the feeling of safety and security in school is key to providing an effective learning environment.
We believe that school districts should foster learning environments that strive to eliminate moments that our students and families encounter antisemitism.
We believe that people of different faiths and political views can peacefully coexist.
We believe in the right of Israel to exist.
We believe there is a difference between critique of a government versus condemnation of people.
We believe critiques of the policies and actions of any government— including the Israeli government— are reasonable and acceptable. But condemnation of any group of people (e.g., nationality, ethnicity, race, religion, immigration status, LGBTQIA+, etc.) — including Jews and Israelis is unacceptable and should not be tolerated.
We believe that antisemitism is an ancient form of bigotry that breeds other forms of hate.
Our Focus:
To be a resource that can help CHUFSD make informed choices.
To provide CHUFSD with a “safe space” to ask questions they may have and get feedback on navigating and preventing antisemitism.
To offer tools and techniques for CHUFSD to minimize incidents of antisemitism in their schools and their effect on the CHUFSD community
To provide CHUFSD families a forum to share concerns and exchange information about antisemitism in our community.
We do not:
Tell schools what to do.
Insist that we are the only voice and perspective.
Claim to represent the views of everyone in our community.
Endorse any political party.
All have the same opinion on the wars in the Middle East or other world events.
We DO agree that antisemitism or hate of any group has no place in our schools.
