VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Read on to discover how you can serve with us.

Spread joy with CrossStreets this Christmas.

This Christmas season, we have the opportunity to show the love of Jesus to our community. Here's how you can help:

First, wish everyone a Merry Christmas ... in Jesus' name.

Second, provide a toy for one of the hundreds of children that will attend our Christmas Joy Event for low-income families. You can buy directly from the Amazon wish list. Or purchase a toy for children ages 0-12 and drop it off at one of these locations:

Creekside Community Church

951 MacArthur Blvd in San Leandro

Sunday mornings between 9-11am until 12/21

Redwood Chapel Gym

19300 Redwood Rd. in Castro Valley

Sunday, 12/21, 11am-2pm

Third, you can provide two dozen cookies (no nuts, please) for the event. Drop them off at the Redwood Chapel gymnasium on Sunday, December 21 between 11am-4pm.

Fourth, you can VOLUNTEER to organize the toys in the Redwood Chapel gymnasium in Castro Valley on Sunday, December 21 from 1-4pm, or help at the Christmas Joy event on Monday, December 22 from 8am-12pm.

Volunteer

Food pantry.

Help provide our neighbors the essential groceries they need. Our food pantry takes place:

At Creekside Community Church in San Leandro on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month
At Impact Church Bay Area on the first and third Saturdays of the month.

Learn more about volunteer roles below. Most of all, we need people to show to love of Jesus to our community!

Volunteer as a Group

Setup - 7:00-8:30am

Are you an early bird? Join us early to set up tables, pop-ups, and unload food.

Distribution - 7:30-10:30am

Assemble food bags and load groceries into cars as they drive through.

Registration/Client Connection - 7:45-10:30am

Love talking to people? Greet clients, check them in, and build relationships with them.

Traffic - 8:00-10:00am

We especially need people to help us direct the line of cars and flow of traffic safely.

Home Delivery - 9:00-10:00am

Volunteer to deliver food to people unable to come to the pantry in teams of two.

Bible Study - 9:00-10:00am

All clients are invited to a Bible study in English to learn about who God is.

You can also serve at our Thursday mini food pantry.

We've started a smaller pantry distribution on Thursdays on the weeks when the Saturday Creekside pantry will be held to serve our walk-up clients and better utilize our Food Rescue items. We are looking for a few people to help with the distribution and potentially do some home deliveries. This is an awesome opportunity to get some face time and deepen relationships with those we serve.

You can let us know if you are available to serve on the volunteer form for the regular pantry.

Street Team outreach.

Join our Street Outreach team to take a hot lunch, snacks, hygiene kits, water, Bibles, and the love of God to the unsheltered in our community on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. We're especially looking for people willing to serve as team leads.

Lunch and showers.

Our Lunch & Showers program takes place on the same Saturdays as the food pantry at Creekside. Volunteer and help register guests, get them what they need to take a shower in our mobile shower trailer, and provide them a warm meal and fellowship. Showers run from approximately 8:00-10:00am, and lunch is served from 10:30am-11:30am.
