Cosmetology

In this course, students must earn up to 110 hours (outside the classroom) in monitored cosmetology related experience such as job shadowing, hair shows, and/ or industry sponsored hands-on workshops. The students will maintain a journal that gives a detailed summary of the key concepts of the activity. This course also provides opportunities to further refine and apply skills that support all aspects of the cosmetology industry. It will assist in preparing students to obtain employment and will focus on the preparation for the Maryland State Board of Cosmetology Examination. The students are expected to earn an additional 430 clock hours for a total of 1070 clock towards the required 1500 as required by law.
