Varanasi,
04-09- 2024.
Dear members of CRI,
In September, we celebrate various feasts. According to the Holy Tradition, Christ entered the synagogue on 1 September to announce His mission to mankind (Luke 4:16-22). Although we cannot forensically confirm this date, after reading this passage, Jesus announced to the assembly that this prophecy had been fulfilled in Him that day, right before their eyes, confirming His Messianic role. As CRI, may our contribution to a larger mission convey HOPE to the people of God around us.
The CRI Varanasi Unit Team is here to acquaint you about the forthcoming CRI Annual General Body Meeting, which was scheduled last year. It will take place at Nav Sadhana on Saturday, 7 September, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Pope Francis has been very vocal about the need to combat human trafficking.
In his message for the 10th World Day of Prayer and Awareness against Human Trafficking, he emphasized that everyone must take action to fight this global scourge, Pope often refers to the story of Saint Josephine Bakhita, a former slave who became a nun, as an inspiration for this fight. So to highlight the recent phenomena we will be having a session by Sr. Meera Mathew RGS, topic: Responding to the frontier ministries: Amrit Talita Kum “India’s Role in Combating Human Trafficking”. Pope Francis officially declared 2025 as a year of Jubilee with a papal bull, titled "Spes Non Confudit" meaning "Hope does not disappoint". We will be having another session on this document by our Bishop Rt. Rev. Eugene Joseph.
We encourage, as many participants as possible, to take advantage of this opportunity and to stay up to date on contemporary concerns and to be part of Pilgrims of Hope.
Please remember to pay your Annual Subscription, of Rs. 500/- per Community.
Thanking you!
