Electives & Selectives

Medical ICU Elective: Emergency medicine residents at Trinity Health Muskgeon are already required to complete a 4-week rotation at the medical ICU at Trinity Health Saint Mary's. Critical care track residents are encouraged to complete an additional 4-week medical ICU rotation as an elective rotation. 

Advanced Ventilator Elective: An elective rotation at Trinity Health Saint Mary's that focuses on ventilator management. Under the supervision of a critical care attending, you will take a deeper dive into the management of mechanical ventilation and NIPPV, including titration, de-escalation, extubation, and trouble-shooting. Only allowed for critical track members who have completed their mandatory medical ICU rotation at Trinity Health Saint Mary's. 

Outside electives will be considered, preferably at a location residents may be considering for fellowship.
