At Creekwood Farms we focus on quality over quantity. Our fun and relaxed atmosphere provides a safe space for riders to learn and grow in and out of the show ring! Our vision is to equip riders with the mental and physical principles to develop true understanding and communication with their horse. We do this through providing an environment that encourages a supportive and goal-oriented community of competitive equestrians. Our focus at Creekwood Farms is to provide an atmosphere which fosters the development of the horse and rider combination in all aspects of horsemanship. We aim to pass on our experience with horses both in the barn and in the arena to our students in a way that encourages confidence and learning.
When Laurel opened Creekwood Farms in 1998 she wanted to create a barn culture that was both competitive and also fun with a heavy emphasis on the importance of true horsemanship skills both on the ground and in the saddle. As a lifelong equestrian, what sets Laurel apart is her emphasis on building a partnership based on trust and respect between horse and rider. She goes beyond traditional techniques, teaching riders to communicate with horses on a profound level. Her patient, gentle approach ensures the well-being of the horses resulting in a deep bond of trust, communication and connection between horse and rider.
