Creativity is still one important topic that is discussed in the educational environment and society. Society or corporations need students or people who have the ability of creativity. The Government of Canada (2017) has Canadian Heritage in its plan. Creative Canada Policy Framework provides the instruction to create the vision of “Creative Canada”. It means that Canada needs more creative people and talents to complete the vision. Education in Canada needs to develop creativity for students in order to complete this vision. Schools and teachers are promoting the development of creativity in the educational environment.

Graphic Design and illustration both need creativity as a based ability. It is hard to differ from others without creativity. However, people or students have some misunderstandings about creativity. The elements in graphic design and illustration can be similar. It is necessary to understand creativity is not only to create or produce something from nothing.
