2021 LaSTOY

The National Teacher of the Year Program is sponsored by the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO). Its goal is to honor teachers and elevate teacher voices from across the nation. I was chosen as Louisiana's 2021 State Teacher of the Year (LaSTOY) in September of 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic. The experience was a profound one and has given me so many wonderful opportunities, including meeting the president and first lady.
