Hugh will run two sessions, Cara will join Hugh for the first session -

The first will focus on the visual arts, specifically collage, something Hugh first explored with students during Covid restrictions. Students will be introduced to collage as an art form, getting stuck in straight away with some easy-to-follow steps. The session will then move on to use collage to explore the experience of being a medical undergraduate & the unique way each student inhabits this identity. We will finish with an exercise which both explores and supports students own wellbeing. Students will be given the chance to use art to explore their professional/ personal/ educational journey at medical school.

The second session will be in person and use exercises drawn from devised theatre, drama therapy and forum theatre to show students how drama/theatre could help patients. If time the session will also use some of the drama/ theatre techniques to explore the experience of being a medical student. Please wear comfortable clothes, there will be some moving around the room but no performance - don't worry if you weren't a fan of drama at school!
