Yellow Card Instructions - To work in the shop during work hours you must obtain a yellow card.

Step 2. **WATCH ALL FOLLOWING VIDEOS: (Estimated About 12~ Hours)

General Safety

• CSU - Injury and Illness Prevention Program (25 mins)

• Hazard Communication – Cal/OSHA (45 mins)

• Emergency and Disaster Preparedness - Cal/OSHA (46 mins)

• Fire Safety and Prevention (36 mins)

• Student Heat Illness Prevention (26 mins)

Lab Training

• CSU - Laboratory Safety Fundamentals (150 mins)

• Hazardous Waste Generator (RCRA) (30 mins)

• Compressed Gas Safety (30 mins)

• Safety Data Sheets (60 mins)

Machine Shop/Fabrication Training

• CSU - Shop Safety (15 mins)

• Machine Guarding (30 mins)

• Welding, Cutting, and Brazing (29 mins)

• Hand and Power Tool Safety (18 mins)

• Respiratory Protection – Cal/OSHA (48 mins)

• Fundamentals of Laser Safety (60 mins)

Lithium Ion Batteries.

Step 3. The Following are Required to be Printed, Read, Understood and Signed by the applicant

• Open "Training Transcript" Page on SumTotal and Print transcript

• Read and understand the “Yellow Tag Manual”.

• Review and initial printed copies of the Yellow Card Check Sheets in pen ink all line items that they understand and are going to abide by. 

• All other line items need to be brought up during the walk through to make sure that they have the understanding of what is required they will follow.  They must sign the document in pen ink.

In total 2 printed & signed/initialed documents: Training Transcript & Yellow Card Check-sheets

As soon as the students have completed all of these steps we can schedule a Safety Walkthrough or sign up on the clip board in room 17-1456. (Don't forget to wear proper shop attire for the walkthrough and to bring your forms)
