Our Purpose
We design, build, and race solar powered speed boats.
The Solar Boat competition has an endurance event where the boat with the most laps in the time limit is the victor. The competition also has slalom and sprint events where the first boat to reach the finish line wins. We build systems designed to fit these events.Â
Team Goals
Team Goals
We are Cal Poly Pomona's renewable energy based automotive competition team, Solar Boat. Our main objective is to build a solar powered boat that competes in races such as sprints, endurance, and maneuverability races. The boat itself has to be hold a human and run fully off solar energy. We are raising funds in order to be able to afford materials needed to build the boat, as well as be able to travel to competitions in May and June. Any donations are greatly appreciated and will go directly into enhancing the learning experience and understanding of our members.
